The fuselages of the new build P-8's are being build by the American company Spirit AeroSystems.

In 2009, India decided to purchase 8 P-8 maritime aircraft for the Indian Navy (2.1 billion dollars). The first P-8 will be delivered in 2013, while the other 7 aircraft in 2015. India is the first export customer for the P-8.

The UK ordered 9 P-8A's at the USG. The first P-8 was delivered in october 2019 to the British Royal Air Force. The P-8's will be stationed with 120 squadron at Lossiemouth Air Force Base.
